    The new BURANO features a sensor that matches the colour science of the Sony VENICE 2. This camera combines exceptional image quality with high mobility and is the world's first digital cinema camera with a PL-Mount to feature in-body image stabilisation. BURANO supports multiple internal recording formats, such as the new XAVC HTM for 8K. Other recording formats include XAVC and X-OCN LT. X-OCN is Sony’s original compressed RAW format that can capture information shot with 16-bit linear data, which gives filmmakers more freedom in post for colour grading.

    VENICE has a fully modular design and even the sensor block is interchangeable for use with the optional RIALTO System.

    Providing a flexible design configuration within a single camera body, the Sony VENICE 6K Digital Motion Picture Camera is meant to provide you with just the amount of camera you need, so you don't have to invest in more than necessary. It features a full-frame CMOS sensor with 15+ stops of dynamic range, but in its basic configuration, it windows the sensor to shoot Super 35. The camera comes with a removable PL Mount that supports the Cooke /i Technology lens metadata protocols, allowing you to work with cinema-style glass ranging from vintage to modern. As is, the camera supports DCI and UHD 4K capture, while planned and scheduled firmware updates will enable anamorphic, full-frame, and select frame rates from 1 to 60 fps.

    WEAPON® now comes with the option of a MONSTRO™ 8K VV sensor. Capable of shooting motion and stills in 8K 2.4:1 at up to 75 frames per second (fps), or 8K Full Format at 60 fps—WEAPON 8K VV™ delivers cinematic image quality with a sensor size of 40.96 mm x 21.60 mm.

    At full 8K resolution, the MONSTRO sensor captures 35.4 Megapixel motion and stills with low noise and now ships with IPP2, RED’s improved image processing pipeline. WEAPON 8K VV provides the most advanced VFX solution with next-level creative flexibility. Blazing-fast 300 MB/s data rates allow you to take advantage of the best possible REDCODE® settings — and record proxy 4K Apple ProRes or 4K Avid DNxHR formats, simultaneously.

    As a member of the DSMC2® camera lineup, WEAPON 8K VV benefits from the advanced modularity of the RED ecosystem. Featuring cable-free peripherals, an integrated mounting plate, wireless control, and compatibility with a growing number of DSMC2 modules and accessories. WEAPON also supports interchangeable OLPFs and lens mounts—empowering you to make the most of all of your VV compatible PL and Canon lenses.

    NOTE: The WEAPON BRAIN® itself does not have a DC IN power port. A port expander or power module is required to power the camera. To construct a working configuration for any BRAIN, RED recommends an expander, battery, lens mount, display, and media.

    The VENICE 2 builds upon the strength of the original VENICE with new features including a compact design, internal recording and the option for two different sensors: the newly developed full-frame 8.6K sensor or the original 6K VENICE sensor.  The VENICE 2 also inherits popular features from the original VENICE including color science, Dual Base ISO and 8-stops of built-in ND filters. Thanks to new internal recording capabilities, users can capture even more colours and detail within the compact body they already know.
